Ada, Ohio - The Thunder volleyball traveled to Ohio Northern University on Friday for the first of three matches at Ohio Northern University's "ONU Invitational." Wheaton faced the host Polar Bears of Ohio Northern in the opening day. Ohio Northern defeated the Thunder, 3-1 (25-11, 23-25, 25-12, 25-23) as the Thunder open the two-day tournament.
Jordan Benford posted a .346 hitting percentage in the match, with a team-high 13 kills.
Ashton Major tallied 10 kills with a .333 hitting percentage.
Sydney Overweg had nine kills, hitting .438.
Caroline Capps and
Katherine Adkison each recorded seven kills with six kills for
Emerson Traweek.
Setter
Lacey Higgins had a team-high 25 assists, with
Paige Syswerda added 19 assists.
Grace Autry had 19 digs, a team high in the match. Major added four total blocks.
Wheaton returns to the court on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. (EDT) against Hanover College. The Thunder close the tournament at 12:30 (EDT) against Bluffton. Â
