Bloomington, Ill. - The Wheaton volleyball team faced Illinois Wesleyan University (7-4, 1-0 CCIW) on Wednesday night in the road contest, the first CCIW match of the season for both teams. The Titans topped the Thunder 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-15) in the league contest. IWU star Taylor French led the Titans with 18 kills as the hosts registered a .417 attack percentage in the match.
Caroline Capps led the Thunder with six kills tonight.
Katherine Adkison tallied five kills, with four kills apiece for
Jordan Benford and
Ashton Major.
Lacey Higgins had 14 assists, and
Grace Autry had a team-high 15 digs.
Wheaton is now 8-3 on the season, with an 0-1 record in CCIW play. The Thunder remain on the road for the next match, a CCIW contest at Augustana, next Wednesday night in Rock Island.Â
