Wheaton, Ill. -- Both Wheaton swimming and diving programs picked up team academic awards from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) recently.
Anthony Fitzgerald ('24) was also named an Individual Scholar All-American on Wednesday.
The Wheaton men's and women's swimming and diving teams each earned 2024 Scholar All-America Team recognition from the CSCAA for the spring season. The Scholar All-America Team award is given to collegiate swimming and diving programs that have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the current semester/quarter.
This year's Wheaton squads were two of the 563 programs around the country to register GPAs of at least 3.30. The Thunder men's team posted a 3.49 cumulative grade point average in the second semester of 2023-24, while the Thunder women's program posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.43 in this year's spring semester.
Fitzgerald earned the Individual Scholar All-America award for the fourth-consecutive season and was named to the CSCAA's First Team list of honorees. To qualify for First Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes needed to earn a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participate in their division's national championship this year.
