Registration is open for 2024 Wheaton Thunder Sports Camps and ID/Prospect Camps

Wheaton, Ill. - Registration for the Wheaton College Athletics Department summer camps are open for summer of 2024 with the return of basketball, wrestling, volleyball and soccer camps, as well as the addition of youth softball and volleyball camps. Additionally, the football, women's soccer and men's soccer programs will be hosting prospect/ID camps for high school-age athletes.

The summer youth camps serve to teach game skills, with a Christian perspective of character development. Each camp is run by the Wheaton College head coaches and staffs of the respective sports. If you have questions please email Anna Nussbaum or call the Wheaton Athletics office at 630-752-5079.

WHEATON SPORTS CAMPS MAIN WEBSITE
 

Wheaton Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach Jon Panner will be the camp director for the 57th annual Wheaton College Basketball Camp. Over 12,000 young men and women have attended the camp over the years and the camp places emphasis on the teaching of the fundamentals of the game and the teaching of character development.

Day camps are available August 5-9 for boys and girls grades 1-4. Boys and girls in grades 5-8 will also run August 5-9.

Wrestling camp will enter its 13th year under Wheaton head wrestling coach Jim Gruenwald. Gruenwald, in his 15th year at Wheaton, was a two-time member of the U.S. Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling team. He finished sixth at 60 kg at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and was 10th at the 2004 Olympics in Athens. A three-time U.S. Champion, Gruenwald completed his competitive career in 2008 as a National Champion, and also won titles in 2003 and 2004.

The wrestling camps will be geared towards grades 1-12. Wrestlers will be grouped based on ability and experience. The wrestling camp will be offered on July 16-18 and July 30-August 1 with advanced sessions taking place in the afternoon.

WRESTLING CAMP WEBSITE

Wheaton Men's Soccer Coach Steve McCrath will run multiple camps this summer. Men's soccer will provide a youth soccer camp for kids from kindergarten to eighth grade from 9 AM-noon. The camp will run three sessions: June 10-14; June 17-21 and July 15-19.

The Wheaton men's soccer program will also host a one-day prospect ID camp on August 3 at Joe Bean Stadium.

Head coach Amanda Fazzari and the Thunder softball program will host a youth softball camp for the first time. The camp will be held July 8-10 at Ruth Leedy Field. Sessions for grades 1-4 will be held from 9-11 AM and sessions for grades 5-9 are from 1-3 PM.

WHEATON SOFTBALL CAMPS
New head coach Eric Plunkett will introduce youth volleyball camps this summer in King Arena. The Thunder volleyball program will host the Lil' Thunder Volleyball Camp June 17-18 from 9-11:30 AM for youngsters in grades K-4. The program will host the Wheaton All-Skills Volleyball Camp August 2-3 from 9 AM-3 PM for grades 6-12.

WHEATON VOLLEYBALL CAMPS
Head coach Jesse Scott and the Thunder football program will host a prospect camp on July 12 from 1-4 PM at McCully Stadium for prosepctive student-athletes in grades 9-12.

WHEATON FOOTBALL PROSPECT CAMP
Patrick Gilliam, Wheaton's head women's soccer coach, will host a prospect ID Camp on June 28 at Joe Bean Stadium. The camp is from 8:30 AM-5:30 PM for players in grades 9-12.

WHEATON WOMEN'S SOCCER PROSPECT/ID CAMP
All the summer camps will take place on the Wheaton College campus at the respective sport sites. Online registration links can be found on each respective camp website.
