Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team hosted UW-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference match. The Thunder defeated the Bluegolds 7-2.
The Thunder No. 2 doubles team of
Jacob Williams and
Joey Geisz earned an 8-5 victory against the UWEC team of Ryan Fonseca and Otto Schluter. The Wheaton tandem of
Michael Walmer and
Tim Steiner earned an 8-2 victory against Pablo Rincon and Sam Murillo at No. 3 doubles.Â
Jack Booker earned a win for the Thunder at No. 1 singles as he defeated the Blugolds' Hunter Roseth 6-3, 6-3. Steiner earned a 6-0, 3-6, 6-2 victory against Pablo Rincon at No. 2 singles. Geisz was a 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 winner at No. 3 singles against Schluter.
Evan Walther was a 6-4, 6-3 victor at No. 4 singles against Ethan Wurtzel. Wheaton's
Andrew Jang was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 5 singles against Fonseca.
The Thunder host North Central on Tuesday in the 2024 home finale at 4:00 p.m. Â
