Kissimmee, Fla. – The Wheaton Thunder softball team wrapped up its eight-game trip to Central Florida on Thursday with a pair of games in Kissimmee. Marian University (Wis.) defeated Wheaton in Thursday's first game, 5-2. The Thunder won the finale of the trip in earning a 14-2 victory against Carlow University in five innings. Wheaton is 5-3 on the season.
In Thursday's opener, Marian University (Wis.) defeated the Thunder 5-2. The Sabres scored five runs, on eight hits, committing no errors. Wheaton plated two runs, on six hits, with one error. Thunder pitcher
Alese Antonello pitched seven innings. Antonello allowed five runs, including three earned runs, on eight hits, with five strikeouts and three walks.

Abby Whitehead was 2-for-3 with a double as she drove in both of Wheaton's runs in the game.

Livi Figueroa, and
Sydney Broderick each added singles to account for Wheaton's six hits in the game.
In the final game of the week for Wheaton, the Thunder scored early in picking up a 14-2 victory against Carlow University.
Victoria Barbar earned the win in the circle for the Thunder. She pitched three innings, allowing two runs, on four hits, with three walks and two strikeouts.
Paige Andrews worked two innings of scoreless relief. Andrews scattered two hits, allowing one walk.
Elizabeth Meyer was 3-for-4, with three runs, and one RBI. Meyer swiped two bases. Centerfielder Isabel Hilyer was 3-for-3 with a double. She drove in five runs and scored a run.
Olivia Nahorniak had a 2-for-4 with a double, driving in three runs, scoring twice.
Abby Whitehead was 2-for-2, belting a double with two runs scored and an RBI.
Madison Forberg had a 2-for-3 effort at the plate, with a run scored and a stolen base.
Abie Brown was 2-for-4 as she scored twice and drove in one run.
The Thunder return to action on March 13. Wheaton travels to Aurora University for a doubleheader that is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
