Men's tennis closes out Spring Break trip with an 8-1 victory against St. John's (Minn.)

GAME STATS Altamonte Springs, Fla. - The Wheaton men's tennis team defeated St. John's University (Minn.) on Thursday afternoon, 8-1. The Thunder victory was the final contest in a four-match trip to Florida during Wheaton's Spring Break as Wheaton was 4-0 during the trip.

Tim Steiner was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles against Ryan Will of SJU. Joey Geisz earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles against Ian Aadland. Evan Walther was a 6-1, 6-2 victor against Daniel Perez in their match at No. 3 singles. Andrew Jang picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles against Mark Rosen of SJU. Michael Walmer earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles.

The Thunder No. 1 doubles team of Steiner and Cody Ching won an 8-2 decision against Will and Aadland. Jacob Williams and Geisz defeated the Johnnies' No. 2 doubles team of Cooper Anderson and Rosen. The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of Walther and Walmer picked up an 8-2 win against Will Deters and Alex Draeger.

Wheaton, on a six-match win streak, improves to 7-3 on the season. The Thunder will host IIT on March 22 at Centre Court Athletic Club in Hanover Park, Ill.
