Thunder wrestling competes in events at Millikin and North Central

Decatur, Ill. - The Wheaton wrestling team competed in multiple events on Saturday. The Thunder traveled to Decatur, Illinois on Saturday afternoon for a dual match at Millikin. The Big Blue defeated the Thunder 42-5 in the dual. 

Wheaton's win at Millikin was by Taggert Kazmierczak as he won a 17-0 techincal fall against Millikin's Michael Hutchison at 165-pounds.

133-pounds: Millikin's Coby Haney defeated Alex Amira, 20-15 Technical Fall (7:00) 
141-pounds: Millikin's Sabri Sino won by decision over Cale Coppess, 8-3 
149-pounds: Millikin's Jaylen Covington defeated Alex Laird, 5-4
157-pounds: Millikin's Chase Mirelez won over Nicholas Bittner, 15-4 Major Decision
165-pounds: Wheaton's Taggert Kazmierczak defeated Michael Hutchison, 17-0 Technical Fall (4:54) 
174-pounds: Millikin's Dejon Glaster won over Garrett Boyd, 20-4 Technical Fall (4:58)
184-pounds: Millikin's Benicio Martinez defeated Sean King, 12-0 Major Decision
197-pounds: Millikin's Mason Clem won over Hunter Kazmierczak by Fall (0:49) 
285-pounds: Millikin's Leno Campbell defeated Joseph Kruse by Fall (0:45)
 

Naperville, Ill. - A select group of Thunder wrestlers competed at the North Central Invitational on Saturday. Division III power Augsburg scored 165.5 points to finish first. North Central scored 142.5 points in second place and Castleton (Vermont) finished third with 135.5 points.

Wheaton scored two points on Saturday in 19th place. Franco Gattuso earned one of Wheaton's two win at the North Central event as he won an 8-3 decision in his opening match of the championship bracket at 157-pounds. Luke Feddeler won a 7-0 decision in his first match in the consolation bracket at 197-pounds.
