Naperville, Ill. -- After two weeks off the mats, the Wheaton wrestling team continued its CCIW slate on Tuesday night by taking the short trip over to Naperville for a dual match against the sixth-ranked North Central Cardinals. The hosts won tonight's meeting by a score of 46-3 to extend its impressive win streak in conference duals to 54. The Thunder squad will round out its 2024 slate on Saturday in two separate locations, as the team travels to Decatur to take on the Millikin Big Blue in another CCIW road test, while certain individual wrestlers will head back to North Central to participate in the Cardinals' invitational that day.
Garrett Boyd was responsible for Wheaton's only points in tonight's contest, as the junior earned a 9-6 decision over his 174-pound rival to put the visitors on the scoresheet.
