Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton junior defensive back Nate Tofilon has been selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for Week Nine of the 2024 season. Tofilon is the fourth Wheaton player to earn recognition from the website this season, joining: defensive end Peter Johanik (October 29), wide receiver Ben Bonga (October 15), and linebacker Caleb McClung (October 1).

Tofilon led all players in total tackles (with eight) in Saturday's 65-17 victory against Elmhurst. He also tied for the game's lead in solo tackles with five. Many of his stops on Saturday were hard hits as he forced two fumbles. His second forced fumble was recovered by teammate Chase Smith who returned it 32 yards for a touchdown return.

Tofilon has registered 23 total tackles this season, including 13 solo stops. He has three forced fumbles on the season which ranks first in the CCIW and 11th in all of NCAA Divison III. The junior also has two passes broken up and an interception. Last week, Tofilon received recognition as the CCIW's Student-Athlete of the Week on Special Teams. Tofilon produced a key takeaway in Wheaton's win over WashU when he blocked a punt attempt that led to excellent field position for the Thunder's first score of the game.

Tofilon and the Thunder travel to Decatur on Saturday for a conference matchup against Millikin.
