Higgins' selection marks the second-consecutive CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week Award since teammate Caroline Capps was named the CCIW Hitter of the Week last Monday. The back-to-back selections mark the first time Wheaton teammates have won a CCIW weekly honor in consecutive weeks since Jessica Bosse (Sept. 9, 2018) and Kelly Thornton (Sept. 11, 2018) won the league's "Setter/Libero/Defensive Player of the Week" award.
