Wheaton opens action at UW-Stevens Point's Tournament

GAME STATS Stevens Point, Wis. – The Wheaton Thunder volleyball team opened up its participation in this weekend's "Papa Johns Invitational", hosted by UW-Stevens Point on Friday evening. Wheaton faced UW-Oshkosh in tonight's contest as the Titans defeated the Thunder 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-23).

Outside hitter Caroline Capps led the Thunder with 15 kills tonight, posting a .387 attack percentage. Ashton Major tallied nine kills in recording a .444 attack percentage. Jordan Benford and Emerson Traweek each had five kills.

Setter Lacey Higgins had 27 assists for the Thunder. Libero Grace Autry had a team-high 12 digs, with Capps adding nine. Traweek tallied seven digs.

Wheaton returns to action in the tournament on Saturday with two more matches. The Thunder take on UW-Stout at 11:00 a.m. Wheaton is scheduled to face the host Pointers of UW-Stevens Point at 1:00 p.m.
