Chicago, Ill. – The Wheaton women's soccer team (0-3-2) traveled to Chicago's South Side on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference matchup at University of Chicago (4-0-1). The Maroons defeated the Thunder 4-0 in the annual meeting between the two programs.
UChicago out-shot the Thunder 11-1 in the first half, including a 4-1 edge in shots on goal. The Maroons scored the first goal of the match in the 24
th minute as Hannah Rittenhouse netted the go-ahead goal for the hosts. The hosts' second goal was scored by Kamiryn Grimes off of a Valerie Champagne assist in the 32
nd minute. A little more than four minutes later Rittenhouse tallied her second goal of the match off of a Livia Sabloff assist in the 36
th minute. The hosts led Wheaton 3-0 at halftime.
Rittenhouse tallied her third goal of the match in the 63
rd minute. Rittenhouse registered a goal off of a Sarah Ginsburg assist. UChicago out-shot the Thunder 9-2 in the second half, with a shot on goal for each team.

Myah Schoolman made one save in 90 minutes. UChicago netminder Sophie Pilarski tallied two saves in 69 minutes in the hosts' net. Adrienne Chan replaced Pilarski for the final 21 minutes of the match with zero saves.
Chicago out-shot Wheaton 20-3 in the match, including a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. Each team was awarded two corner kicks in the match.
Wheaton returns home for its next match. The Thunder host No. 13 UW-La Crosse on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
