Whitewater, Wis. – The Wheaton College volleyball team (1-0) traveled to the UW-Whitewater "Warhawk Invite" this weekend for three matches to open the 2022 season. The Thunder defeated Rose-Hulman 3-2 (23-25, 25-17, 24-26, 26-24, 15-7) in Wheaton's opening match.
Emerson Traweek led the Thunder with 16 kills tonight.
Jordan Benford and
Caroline Capps each recorded 13 kills.
Lacey Higgins had a team-high 47 assists for the Thunder.
Katie Stotts, Higgins and Capps each had three service aces for Wheaton today. Capps registered a team-high 24 digs, Stotts tallied 22 and Higgins had 17 digs.
Ashton Major led all players with seven assisted blocks.
Faith Bailey, Higgins and Capps each assisted on four blocks.
The Thunder will face Lakeland and UW-Whitewater on Saturday to close out the tournament.
