Waukesha, Wis. – The Wheaton track and field teams are competed at the 2023 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend on the campus of Carroll University. The Thunder women's program finished fifth in the nine-team field.
North Central repeated as the CCIW Champions with 184 total points this weekend. Elmhurst scored 116 points in second place, Carthage finished third with 115 points, Illinois Wesleyan tallied 94 points in fourth place, Weaton was fifth with 79 points, Augustana finished sixth with 78 points, Millikin scored 72 points in seventh place, Carroll scored 46 points in eighth place and North Park was ninth with 35 points.

Following her first-place effort in the women's 10,000-meter run on Friday, senior
Susannah Bennett finished first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 17:55.06.
Hope Clark recorded a time of 18:29. 23 in fourth place in the same event.

Abi Gum completed her two-day effort in the women's heptathlon with 4,449 points to finish second place in the multi-event competition. Senior
Amy Keane finished fourth in the finals of the women's 100-meter dash with a time of 15.75-seconds
Crystelle VanWingerden posted a time of 59.90 in the finals of the women's 400-meter dash to place fourth.

Natalie Conrad finished fifth in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in an effort of 11:49.97.
