Wheaton, Ill. –
Ellen Radandt Stremler has announced her resignation as head softball coach at Wheaton College. Radandt Stremler says of her time at her alma mater, ""I am very thankful for the opportunity to have coached at Wheaton for the past six years. It has been the joy of my life and I will always be thankful for my time here. Thank you to Julie Davis and Mike Schauer for supporting me and the softball program. I will miss this role tremendously and wish the team the best in the years ahead."
Wheaton Athletics Director
Mike Schauer states of her, ""I am deeply grateful for Ellen's work within our department and with our softball team. She became a trusted friend and colleague. I will miss her both personally and professionally. We all wish her the best!"

Radandt-Stremler was named Wheaton's head coach in July of 2017. In six seasons as head coach of the Thunder softball program, she earned 70 victories. She coached nine All-CCIW selections in five full conference seasons (no All-CCIW team was selected in 2020), including the 2019 CCIW Player of the Year – Kelly Thornton.
An alumna of Wheaton, Radandt-Stremler returned to her alma mater following one season as an assistant coach at Hope College in 2016-17. Radandt-Stremler was a two-time All-CCIW selection during her Wheaton playing career. She earned First Team All-CCIW honors in 2015 and Second Team recognition in 2016. In four seasons at Wheaton, she posted a .264 (92-for-348) batting average. Her 14 career home runs rank fifth in school history. She hit a home run in three-consecutive games during a stretch of the 2015 season (April 23-25) for a mark that tied for the fifth-longest streak of consecutive games with a home run in NCAA Division III history at the time.
Schauer notes that a search to hire a new softball coach will begin immediately.
