Carol Stream, Ill. – The Thunder baseball team hosted Benedictine University in a non-conference contest on Wednesday night at Lee Pfund Stadium. The Eagles used superb pitching from starter Eddie Wilson (1-0) to gain the 11-1 victory. Wilson threw six innings of no-hit baseball for Benedictine tonight and he scattered two hits in seven innings allowing one run.
The Eagles won 11-1 as the guests scored 11 runs, on 12 hits, with no errors and Wheaton tallied one run, on two hits, with two errors. The Thunder utilized 11 pitchers, allowing 11 runs, with seven earned runs, on 12 hits.

Ben Weaver broke up Wilson's no-hitter with a leadoff double to start the bottom of the seventh inning. Shortstop
Matthias Haggerty belted a single in the next at bat to drive in Weaver.
Benedictine scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take the early 1-0 lead. The Eagles scored six runs in the top of the seventh inning to break the game open. Wheaton's run came in the bottom of the seventh off the RBI-single by Haggerty. The Eagles added three more runs in the top of the ninth inning to account for the 11-1 final score.
Wheaton returns to conference play on Friday night as the Thunder host Carthage College at Pfund Stadium. Friday's CCIW tilt between the Thunder and the Firebirds is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
