Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder wrestling team hosted Millikin University on Saturday in a CCIW dual match in King Arena. The Big Blue, currently ranked 20th in Division III by the National Wresting Coaches Association (NWCA) defeated the Thunder 33-13.
Wheaton's first win of the afternoon came in the opening match at 149-pounds. Thunder sophomore
Cale Coppess defeated Millikin's Colin Claffey in a 10-0 major decision.

Jackson Punzel, ranked 15th in Division III at 197-pounds earned a victory in his match against Millikin's Tate Crowell. Punzel defeated Crowell in a 16-1 technical fall at the 4:13 mark of their matchup.
Brendan Johnston earned a win at 125 pounds to extend his current win streak to eight-consecutive matches. Johnston defeated Millikin's Cameron Lee in a 14-2 major decision.
The Thunder wrestling team is off until next Saturday when Wheaton hosts Aurora University in a CCIW dual match at 1:00 p.m. in King Arena.
