Wheaton is ranked 12th in the final D3football.com Top-25 poll for the season. The Thunder earned a ranking of 13th in the final AFCA Division III Coaches Poll of 2023.

The recognition marks the 16th time in the 20-year history of the D3football.com Top-25 poll that Wheaton has finished a full season in the ranking.

Wheaton finished the 2023 campaign 10-2, earning the program's fourth-consecutive NCAA Playoff appearance and 14th postseason bid overall.

Wheaton finished ranked in the top-15 of Division III in six different team categories this season.
