Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton women's soccer team hosted North Park on Saturday night for "Senior Night" at Joe Bean Stadium. Wheaton scored the match's lone goal in the closing minutes to earn a 1-0 victory against the Vikings. The victory improves Wheaton to 5-6-4 overall and 4-1-1 in CCIW play.
The Thunder win earns Wheaton a first-round bye in the upcoming CCIW Tournament that begins on October 28. Wheaton will host a CCIW Tournament Semifinal on November 1 at a time and versus an opponent to be determined.
Katherine Ashley scored the game-winning goal for the Thunder in the 86th minute, with just 4:46 remaining in the match. She put the ball into the right edge of the net on a pass from
Morgan Beamer who took the clear pass from
Audrey Sexson.
Wheaton out-shot North Park 15-8 in the match, including a clear 12-4 edge in the second half. The Thunder had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal tonight. Wheaton was awarded five corner kicks, and the Vikings attempted two.

Myah Schoolman made four saves in the Thunder net in posting the shutout. North Park netminder Campbelle Hunt stopped five Thunder shots and allowed just Ashley's game-winning goal.
Wheaton hosts Millikin on Wednesday night in the regular season finale for the Thunder.
