Elmhurst, Ill. - The Thunder wrestling team returned to action for its first contest since December 16 as Wheaton traveled to Elmhurst University for a dual match against the Bluejays. Wheaton won two matches by fall, two by technical fall and one by decision as the Thunder emerged with a 25-24 victory.

Wheaton's first victory of the evening went to Anthony Zamora at 125-pounds. Zamora made quick work of Owen Brotherton in a fall just 55-seconds into the opening match. Zamora's win gave Wheaton a 6-0 advantage in the team score. The Bluejays won a decision at 133-pounds.

Thunder senior Ethan Harsted picked up Wheaton's second win with a 20-5 technical fall 7:00 into his match at 141-pounds against Elmhurst's Troy Mock. Harsted's win increased Wheaton's lead in the team score to 11-3. Elmhurst's Zach Kolb followed with a 4-1 decision at 149-pounds to trim Wheaton's advantage to 11-6.

Cade Zeamer followed with Wheaton's next victory. He defeated Elmhurst's Erwin Morales by fall at the 3:28 mark of their match at 157-pounds. Zeamer's win increased Wheaton's lead to 17-6. Elmhurst won by forfeit at 165-pounds to trim Wheaton's lead in the team score to 17-6.

Jacob Kraker won a 6-4 decision in his match at 174-pounds against Elmhurst's Joe Caringella. Kraker's win extended the Thunder lead to 20-12. Elmhurst's Norbert Crecan picked up a fall at 184-pounds to cut guests' lead to 20-18.

Senior Jackson Punzel earned a 17-2 technical fall in 6:05 against Colin O'Neill at 197-pounds. Punzel's win gave the Thunder a 25-18 in the team score. Elmhurst's Roberto Pena picked up a fall at 285-pounds to account for the 25-24 final score.

Wheaton returns to action at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in King Arena as the Thunder host Concordia University (Wis.).
