Mequon, Wis. – The Wheaton wrestling team returned to action on Saturday with a pair of dual matches at the CCIW Catchall Duals, hosted by Concordia University (Wis.). The Thunder won both of their matches on Saturday with a 37-10 victory against MSOE, followed by a 23-22 win against Augustana to close out the day.
Cale Coppess earned a pair of wins at 149-pounds on Saturday with a 10-8 decision over MSOE's Max Sanderfoot and he defeated Augustana's Kameron Hamel in a 6-4 decision in extra time.
Cade Zeamer earned two wins at 157-pounds, beginning with a 5-3 decision over Michael Smith of MSOE in the opening dual match for the Thunder. Zeamer was a victor in a 6-3 decision against Augustana's Chase Clark. Wheaton's 174-pounder,
Jacob Kraker earned the first of his two wins with a 17-0 technical fall in 6:02 against Joseph Estrada of MSOE. Kraker won a 3-2 decision against Augustana's Vinny Querciagrossa in their match.
Stephen Watson defeated MSOE's Caleb Brick in their match at 184-pounds. In the dual against Augustana, Watson earned an 8-3 decision over the Vikings' Clay Baillie.
Anthony Zamora earned a win by forfeit against MSOE and he won a 17-1 technical fall against Augustana's Sam Deyo in their match at 125-pounds. Thunder senior
Ethan Harsted won via a forfeit against MSOE, and he picked up a win via a fall at the 1:37 mark of his match at 141-pounds against Augustana's Colin Roque.
