Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton sophomore Alese Antonello has been named the CCIW Softball "Pitcher of the Week", as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. The selection marks the first time in her career that Antonello has won the conference's "Pitcher of the Week" award. She is the second-consecutive Wheaton pitcher to earn the recognition, following Emilie Gist's honor as the Pitcher of the Week last Tuesday.

She earned a complete game win, allowing just one run in a 5-1 victory against Ohio Wesleyan on Friday. Antonello struck out three Battling Bishops' batters in her seven innings in the circle. She earned the save in Wheaton's other victory last Friday, a 9-4 win against Gordon College. She pitched 3-2/3 innings against Gordon, scattering four hits, with three strikeouts.
