Wheaton, Ill. - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2021 NCAA Division III Cross Country Team All-Academic Awards recently. The Wheaton men's and women's programs both earned representation on the teams. To qualify for the award, a team must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
The Thunder women's program was among 163 Division III squads to earn the recognition from the USTFCCCA. Wheaton posted a 3.55 cumulative GPA for the academic year.
The Wheaton men's program was one of 137 teams in Division III to earn the award. The Wheaton men's program posted a 3.32 cumulative GPA in the 2021 season.
Additionally the USTFCCCA presented All-Academic individual awards for the 2021 season. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track & Field Team, the student-athlete must have A) placed in the top 50% of finishers at the National Cross Country Championship, B) placed in the top 25% of starters at respective Regional Cross Country Championship, and/or C) been named All-Region (Top 35 at respective region).
Three members of the Wheaton women's cross country program earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors: junior
Susannah Bennett (computer science major); senior
Morgan Moxley (English Writing major); and senior
