Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College football team (8-2) will host Bethel University (Minn.) for a First Round Game of the 2022 NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday, November 19. The Thunder will host the Royals (8-2 ) in a noon kickoff. The winner of next Saturday's Wheaton-Bethel game will advance to face the winner of another first round game between Linfield and Pomona-Pitzer on November 26.
The Thunder earned an at-large bid to the to the 2022 NCAA Division III Playoffs. Wheaton is making its 13
th overall appearance in the Division III Playoffs. The program has compiled a 17-12 all-time record in the postseason, including a perfect 12-0 record in the first round.
Saturday's matchup will be the fourth meeting on the gridiron between Wheaton and Bethel, and the second postseason meeting. The Royals earned an at-large bid to the postseason this season, finishing second on the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC).
Admission for Saturday's game is $8 for adults, $4 for students; and children under three are admitted for free. As a NCAA Championship event no free passes will be accepted. Tickets will be available at the gate on Saturday (Cash Only).
