Thunder track and field teams compete at the Rex Foster Twilight Meet

Whitewater, Wis. – The Wheaton track and field teams traveled to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday to compete in the Rex Foster Twilight Meet. The windy afternoon saw many Thunder athletes competing for the first time this outdoor season, as Wheaton took only limited rosters to last week's meet at Elmhurst. Although no team scores were tabulated, members of both the men's and women's teams recorded strong performances in the meet.
 
In the men's meet, Eli Odell placed first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.55-seconds. The 4x100-meter relay team of Peter Van Os, Nico Bradley, Chris Albert and Ben Jackson were first, clocking in at 42.90-seconds. Jonah Jones ran a time of 9:46.35 in the 3000-meter steeplechase, earning a third-place finish. Max Veth was third in the 400-meter dash, with a time of 49.52-seconds, and Andrew Lauber finished fourth in the event at 49.67-seconds. Elliot Kim ran a 1:58.29 in the 800-meter run, good for fourth place. Nico Bradley placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, crossing the line at 22.81-seconds. In the field events, Peter Bradley placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing a heigh of 4.33-meters, and Trevor Gabriele was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.13-meters.
 
Ally LyleIn the women's meet, the Thunder had multiple top-four finishers in two separate running events. Ally Lyle (PICTURED LEFT) ran her way to first place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.51, and Emma Fisler finished with a time of 2:26.34 to place fourth in the race. Tess Sutton recorded a time of 1:08.50 to place second in the 400-meter hurdles, and Audrey Coyle placed fourth with a time of 1:11.55. Anna Joy Setran placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase, running a 12:04.79. Faith Gilbert placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.28. Abi Gum was fifth in the javelin with a throw of 28.80-meters.
 
The Thunder will travel to Lisle to compete in the Benedictine University Invitational on Friday, April 9.
