Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton Thunder wrestling team hosted Aurora University for a dual match on Saturday afternoon in King Arena. Aurora won the dual by a score of 36-15. The event was originally scheduled as a tri-match with Wheaton, Aurora and University of Chicago, however, the Maroons were unable to compete on Saturday due to COVID-19 protocols within the UChicago program.

Senior Ethan Harsted was unopposed today and earned a victory via a forfeit.

Senior Josiah Krason rallied to win a 12-8 decision against Logan Balosky at 149-pounds. Balosky led Krason 4-3 at the end of the first period, however, Krason led 7-6 at the end of the second period thanks to a four-point near fall in the middle period. Krason secured the win with two takedowns and an escape in the third period.

The third victory of the day for the Thunder came at 184-pounds as Nathan Larson earned a fall 3:30 into his match against Aurora's Dylan Regnier-Jamnik. Regnier-Jamnik led the match 2-1 at the end of the first period, however, Larson registered a reversal early in the second period and put his opponent on his back in securing the fall.

Wheaton returns to action on January 6-7 as the Thunder travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana for the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) "National Duals".
