Lauren Ketchum becomes the 23rd Wheaton women's soccer player to earn at least one All-America honor

United Soccer Coaches Announce Division III Women's Soccer Awards as Lauren Ketchum earns All-America honors; Sexson and McNally are All-Region

Izzy McNallyWheaton, Ill. – United Soccer Coaches announced its Division III women's soccer All-Region Teams on Tuesday and its Division III All-America Teams on Wednesday. The Wheaton women's soccer team earned representation on both lists. Thunder goalkeeper Lauren Ketchum was named as a Third Team All-American for her play this fall, and the Thunder senior was a First Team member of the All-Region VIII Team. Sophomore Audrey Sexson joins Ketchum on the First Team of the All-Region squad, Sexson earned First Team honors in the midfield. Senior Izzy McNally (PICTURED LEFT) was a Second Team All-Region selection at defender. 

This week's announcements continues a long list of postseason accolades for Ketchum. At the conclusion of the regular season she was named the 2021 CCIW Defensive Player of the Year, and earned First Team All-CCIW recognition, in addition to CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 honors. She is the 23rd individual from the Wheaton women's soccer program to earn All-America recognition.

Ketchum played   1822:50 in net this regular season, the fourth-highest total in Division III. Including her postseason work, Ketchum played 1932:50 in net for the Thunder this fall. She made 127 saves this season, and her 11 saves over Wheaton's two NCAA Tournament matches in November ranks second among all Division III goalkeepers in the postseason. She started every match for the Thunder in 2021, posting a 1.16 goals against average, allowing 25 goals. She recorded 127 saves, averaging 6.05 saves per match.

Audrey SexsonSexson (PICTURED RIGHT) is a First Team All-Region selection for the first time in her career. A First Team All-CCIW pick at midfielder this fall, Sexson started all 21 matches for the Thunder this season. She tallied four goals with four assists. She led the team in shots on goal with 28 this season, and was one of only three Thunder player to average more than 1.0 shots on goal per match in 2021. She scored three of her goals, with one assist in Wheaton's eight regular season CCIW contests.

This year's All-Region selection for McNally is the second in her career, as she was a First Team All-Region honoree in 2019. McNally appeared in 17 matches this fall, with one goal and one assist. She keyed a Wheaton defense that recorded five shutouts this year and held opponents to a 1.19 goals against average, allowing just 26 goals across 21 matches.
