Nyameye Adom selected as a D3hoops Men's Basketball Preseason All-American

Wheaton, Ill. - D3hoops.com announced its 2021-22 Division III Men's Basketball Preseason All-America Team on Tuesday morning. Wheaton senior Nyameye Adom is a Third Team selection at guard.

Adom was named a Second Team All-American at guard by D3hoops.com following the conclusion of the pandemic-shortened 2021 season. He was also honored as the D3hoops.com Central Region Player of the Year, Adom helped lead to a 12-1 record in the 2021 season. A unanimous First Team All-CCIW selection last season, Adom led the Thunder in scoring last year, with 21.5 points per game, a mark that ranked second in the CCIW. His 280 points in 2021 ranked 20th amongst all players in NCAA Division III.

Adom grabbed 4.2 rebounds per game and tied Tyson Cruickshank for the team's assist lead with an average of 3.7 assists per game last season. He shot 45.5% (97-213) from the field, including 37.8% (28-74) from three-point range. Adom scored a season-high 31 points in a Thunder victory at Millikin on January 28, 2021 and had a 30-point effort against North Park at home on February 9. He scored in double digits in every game for the Thunder last season and tallied 25 or more points in six of Wheaton's 13 games, including two game of 30 or more points. The junior had a career-high seven assists in victories against Carthage (February 13) and North Central (February 25).

Adom and the sixth-ranked Thunder open the 2021-22 season at home on November 10 with a local matchup at 7:00 p.m. against Benedictine University in King Arena.
