Giovanni Weeks and Jake Holaday each earn selection to the D3football.com Team of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - Two members of the Wheaton football team have earned a selection to this week's D3football.com Team of the Week. Junior Giovanni Weeks earned a spot at running back, while senior Jake Holaday was a selection at defensive tackle.

Weeks ran for a career-high 188 yards in Wheaton's 40-10 victory at WashU last Saturday, averaging a robust 7.8 yards per carry. He scored Wheaton's first touchdown of the game on an 11-yard run to put the Thunder up 7-0. He later broke free for a 74-yard touchdown run in the third quarter to put Wheaton up 33-3.

Weeks leads the CCIW with an average of 125.8 yards per game, a mark that ranked 11th in Division III. He is ranked sixth in Division III in all-purpose yards per game with 179.25 yards per game. Weeks is 11th among Division III running backs in rushing yards per game with an average of 128.5 yards per game on the ground.

Holaday was a force last Saturday in the victory at WashU, making five solo tackles. Four of his five tackles in the game were made in the Bears' backfield with four tackles for loss (-22 yards). He registered three quarterback sacks (-18 yards) in the game. .All three of his sacks occurred in the second quarter, the first (-4 yards) came on third down to end a WashU drive. His second sack (-5 yards) and third (-9 yards) came on the first two plays of a WashU drive late in the second quarter.

Holaday ranks second on the Thunder defense with 17 total tackles this season, including 10 solo stops. He is second in the conference with a team-high four quarterback sacks (-30 yards) among his 5-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-35 yards).
