Jake Holaday named the CCIW Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Wheaton, Ill. - Senior defensive lineman Jake Holaday was named a CCIW Football Student-Athletes of the Week on Monday, winning the conference's weekly recognition on defense.

Holaday was a force last Saturday in Wheaton's 40-10 win at WashU, making five solo tackles. Four of his five tackles in the game were made in the Bears' backfield with four tackles for loss (-22 yards). He registered three quarterback sacks (-18 yards) in the game. .All three of his sacks occurred in the second quarter, the first (-4 yards) came on third down to end a WashU drive. His second sack (-5 yards) and third (-9 yards) came on the first two plays of a WashU drive late in the second quarter.

Holaday ranks second on the Thunder defense with 17 total tackles this season, including 10 solo stops. He is second in the conference with a team-high four quarterback sacks (-30 yards) among his 5-1/2 tackles for lost yardage (-35 yards). 

Fifth-ranked Wheaton hosts Augustana this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for its annual Homecoming game.
