Former Wheaton offensive tackle Andrew Jones '19 signed to the Seattle Seahawks practice squad

Wheaton, Ill. - On Thursday the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL announced the signing of former Wheaton offensive tackle Andrew Jones to the Seahawks' practice squad. Jones played four seasons for the Thunder. He was a member of Wheaton squads that made NCAA Division III Playoff appearances in 2015 and 2016 and was a freshman on the 2015 Thunder squad that posted an undefeated 10-0 regular season record.

Jones played in all 10 games on the offensive line for Wheaton as a junior in 2017 and repeated the feat again as a senior in the 2018 season. As a junior in 2017 he earned First Team All-CCIW recognition and was named to the D3football.com All-North Region team that season.

Current Thunder head coach Jesse Scott said of Jones' signing, "The Wheaton Football family is thrilled to see this opportunity come to fruition for Andrew.  He is a true testament to the value of hard work and perseverance - both during his time in orange & blue and beyond!"

Jones graduated from Wheaton in May of 2019 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
