Wheaton, Ill. - Tyler Sigler, a four-year letterwinner in the defensive backfield for the Wheaton football team, recently signed a contract to play for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) through 2022. Sigler, a December 2018 graduate of Wheaton, spent the 2019 NFL preseason with the Arizona Cardinals. He played in four preseason games for the Cardinal in 2019, tallying ten tackles, with one interception. In the Spring of 2019 he participated in minicamps with the New York Giants and Arizona Cardinals.
Sigler is a two-time D3football.com All-North Region selection for the Thunder, earning Second Team All-Region honors as a senior in 2018. In 2018, Sigler finished third on the Thunder defense with 50 total tackles this season, tying for the team lead with 41 solo tackles. Sigler, a First Team All-CCIW selection in 2016 and 2018, broke up three passes in his senior year with one interception and a fumble recovery.
In four season with the Thunder, Sigler recorded 141 total tackles, including 97 solo tackles. He made eight career interceptions with 21 pass deflections in his Thunder tenure.
