Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's soccer falls 2-0 at Ohio Wesleyan

Delaware, Ohio - A pair of late goals lifted Ohio Wesleyan to a 2-0 victory over the Wheaton men's soccer team on Friday night in the first road test of the young season for the Thunder. Both teams finished the evening with a 2-1 record. Wheaton will conclude its Ohio road trip on Saturday with a visit to Kenyon College for a 5 pm (EST) kickoff.

The Battlin' Bishops dominated the attack on Friday night, leading to a 20-8 shot advantage. Wheaton withstood an 11-3 shot deficit in the first half to keep the game scoreless. Hasten Biddlecome made the first of his two first half saves in the seventh minute but watched helplessly as Ethan Love's shot pounded off the woodwork and out to Will Harr, whose follow-up shot attempt sailed wide. Wheaton challenged late in the half when Michael Groza's shot went wide in the 44th mintue and Dillon Etter's shot was blocked in the final seconds of the scoreless first half.

Wheaton threatened again off an early second half corner kick when Groza found the head of Stafford Dowling, who missed wide with a header. Corner kicks would prove to be the difference as an Ohio Wesleyan corner kick early in the 76th minute finally broke the scoreless tie with Joe Brush heading the ball past Biddlecome. Three minutes later, Adam Yingling's corner kick dropped loose into the box where it was put away by a bicycle kick by Ryan Huelsman.

J.P. Baughman made both of his saves in the final minutes of action, stopping Christian Holland's shot in the 83rd minute and turning away Will Woodfin's shot in the 85th minute. Biddlecome finished his night with two goals allowed and four saves.
