Fort Pierce, Fla. - The Wheaton baseball team wrapped up its annual spring break trip on Saturday morning with an 11-1 victory over the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Wheaton concludes the trip with a record of 6-2, improving its overall mark to 8-2 on the season. Wheaton will return home for a string of five consecutive home games, beginning with a 5 pm first pitch on Wednesday night at Joe Bean Stadium.
Wheaton scored its 11 runs on 16 hits and committed one defensive error. The Dolphins (2-5) scored one run on three hits with two miscues.
Sam Arnold earned the win on the mound for the Thunder, throwing 5.2 innings and allowing two hits and two walks while striking out four batters.

Alex Hanvey, and
Christian Gibbs allowed one run in over three innings of relief work while also striking out four.
After stranding two runners in each of the first two innings, Wheaton took the lead in the bottom of the third inning when
Joel Pierce doubled with one out and scored two batters later on a two-out Dolphin error.
Brett Albaugh's leadoff triple in the bottom of the fifth inning led to a run on
Ben Brittain's RBI single to give the Thunder a 2-0 edge.
Jesse Welch led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a single and stole second before scoring on
Sam Reichert's triple to left center. Reichert came in to score two batters later on a bunt single by
Nick Mailman.
Wheaton finally blew the game open in the seventh inning after
Evan Ogden reached with a one-out single and scored on
Connor Hartman's pinch-hit triple. Hartman scored on Welch's single before Wheaton loaded the bases with two outs.
Brett Albaugh struck the big blow of the inning, unloading the bases with a grand slam home run to left field to cap a six-run inning and push the lead to 10-0.
Graham Core's pinch hit triple in the bottom of the eighth inning led to Wheaton's final run on a Dolphin balk. Mount Saint Vincent found the scoreboard in top of the ninth inning after a leadoff walk and two wild pitches set up an RBI groundout.
Four Thunder batters recorded multi-hit led by
Jesse Welch's four hit day.
Sam Reichert tripled as part of a three-hit day that saw the Thunder catcher score two runs.
Brett Albaugh tripled and homered, driving in four runs and scoring twice.
Joel Pierce had two hits including a double.
