Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton men's basketball team will participate in the CCIW Men's Basketball Tournament this week. The third seeded Thunder host sixth seed Elmhurst on Tuesday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. in King Arena in one of two first round games of the tournament. Tuesday's other semifinal will be in Bloomington as fourth seed Illinois Wesleyan hosts fifth seeded Carroll at 7:00 p.m.
The tournament's semifinal and championship games will be held this weekend in Rock Island. The highest advancing seed out of Tuesday's semifinal games will face No. 2 seeded North Central College at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22 at Augustana's Carver PE Center in the opening semifinal matchup. The lowest remaining seed will play No. 1 seed Augustana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday on the Vikings' home court. Friday's semifinal winners will play in the CCIW Men's Basketball Tournament Championship game on Saturday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m.
No CCIW passes or Wheaton season passes will be honored for the conference tournament. Students with valid CCIW school ID will be admitted free of charge. Ticket prices for all sites are $8.00 for adults, $4.00 each for seniors, and students, children under three-years-old will be admitted for free.
The winner of the 2019 CCIW Men's Basketball Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the upcoming NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship.
