Wheaton, Ill. - Although the Thunder fell to Milwaukee, men's team (97-103) and women's team (82-115), Wheaton's swimming made big strides in fine-tuning the details that showed great results.
Alexandria McKeaney (So.) made two top three finishes, second in the 50 freestyle (25.74) and third in the 500 freestyle (5:38.95).
Priscilla Min (So.) had an all-around solid performance as she touched first in the 500 freestyle (5:26.16) and second in the 400 IM (4:48.55), followed by Abby Rutledge (So.) touching with a time of 4:52.17.
Maggie Franke (Sr.) made strides against her opponents as she placed first in the 100 freestyle (53.98), a full second and a half faster than second place finisher, while
Kiki Rogers (Jr.) finished into third place with a time of 59.45.
Ashley Bowen (Sr.) remained consistent as she placed third in the 1000 freestyle (11:13.48), battling Milwaukee by herself.
Emily Hahn (Fr.) and
Kirsten Peters (Jr.) finished 2-3 in the 100 backstroke, Hahn second (1:04.42) and Peters third (1:06.00).
Kiki Rogers and
Sarah Harville (Fr.) also went 2-3 in the 100 breaststroke, Rogers second (1:11.00) and Harville third (1:12.05).
Abigail Rutledge touched second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.88) while
Sanya Holm (Fr.) touched third, making her appearance with a time of 1:05.83.
The women's 200 freestyle A relay team finished second (Franke, Bowen, Stevens, and Coley:1:41.45) while the B relay finished third (Musgrove, Min, Holm, Peters: 1:44.94). Rutledge, Rogers, Musgrove, and Franke made up the 200 medley relay, placing second against Milwaukee with a time of 1:53.01.
