Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton volleyball team will travel to Millikin on Tuesday night for a first round match of the 2019 CCIW Volleyball Tournament. The Thunder will be participating in the conference tournament for the first time since 2016. The winner of the CCIW Volleyball Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the upcoming 2019 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship.
Wheaton is the No. 6-seed in the 2019 CCIW Volleyball Tournament and will play a first-round match on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against No. 3 Millikin in Decatur. Tuesday's other first-round match is No. 5 seed Augustana at No. 4 seed Elmhurst.
The advancing teams will participate in semifinal matches on Thursday, November 7. The winner of the Millikin-Wheaton match travels to Bloomington on Thursday for a contest against No. 2 seed Illinois Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m. The Augustana-Elmhurst winner travels to Kenosha and will take on top seed Carthage Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
The highest seeded remaining team following Thursday's semifinal matches will host the CCIW Tournament Championship Match on Saturday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m.
Ticket prices are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors and youth/students under 14, and children under five-years-old will be admitted for free. Students with valid CCIW school ID will be admitted free of charge. As a CCIW Championship event, no CCIW parent passes, faculty/staff ID's, or Thunder season passes will be honored.
