The Thunder football team to host Central (Iowa) on Saturday in the NCAA Division III Playoffs' Second Round

Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College football team (11-0) will host a Second Round Game of the 2019 NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday November 30. The Thunder will entertain Central College (Iowa) at McCully Stadium in Wheaton on Saturday in a noon kickoff. The winner of next Saturday's Wheaton-Central game will advance to face the winner of another second round game between St. John's (Minn.) and Chapman next Saturday in Orange, California.

Admission for Saturday's game is $8 for adults, $4 for students; and children under three are admitted for free. As a NCAA Championship event no free passes will be accepted. Only cash will be accepted for tickets being purchased at the game on Saturday. However, fans that wish to purchase tickets with a credit card can do so online HERE. Fans using this link should bring a printed copy of the ticket to the ticket gate or show the ticket on their phones for admission.

The Thunder earned the CCIW's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Playoffs. Wheaton is in its 11th overall appearance in the Division III Playoffs and first since 2016. The Thunder has compiled a 15-10 all-time record in the postseason, including a perfect 11-0 record in the first round.

The Thunder advanced to next Saturday's Second Round matchup with a 51-7 victory against Martin Luther at McCully Stadium. Central rallied to defeat UW-Oshkosh 38-37 in overtime in their First Round matchup in Pella, Iowa.

Next Saturday's matchup will be the third meeting on the gridiron between Wheaton and Central. The postseason matchup will be the first game between the programs since 1940. Central is making its 21st NCAA playoff appearance, and first since 2009.
