Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton College football team (10-0) will host a First Round Game of the 2019 NCAA Division III Playoffs on Saturday November 23. The Thunder will entertain Martin Luther (9-1) at McCully Stadium in Wheaton on Saturday in a noon kickoff. The winner of next Saturday's Wheaton-Martin Luther game will advance to face the winner of another first round game between Central (Iowa) and UW-Oshkosh on November 30.
The Thunder earned the CCIW's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Playoffs. Wheaton is making its 11
th overall appearance in the Division III Playoffs and first since 2016. Wheaton's 11 NCAA Playoff selections is tied for the second-most in CCIW history. The Thunder has compiled a 14-10 all-time record in the postseason, including a perfect 10-0 record in the first round.
Saturday's matchup will be the first meeting on the gridiron between Wheaton and Martin Luther. The Knights earned the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs by winning the UMAC Championship for the second-consecutive year. The Knights posted a 9-1 overall record in the 2019 regular season, with an 8-0 mark in UMAC conference play.
Admission for Saturday's game is $8 for adults, $4 for students; and children under three are admitted for free. As a NCAA Championship event no free passes will be accepted. Tickets can be purchased in advance by
