Lake Forest, Ill. - The Wheaton volleyball team earned its second victory of the season against Lake Forest College on Wednesday night.
The Thunder earned a 3-1 victory against the Foresters. The Thunder won the first set 25-20 and Lake Forest responded with a 25-21 victory in the second set. Wheaton regained the lead the match score with a 28-26 victory in the third set. The Thunder closed out the match with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set.
Audrey Gerze led the Thunder with 16 kills in the match, as she posted a .303 attack percentage.
Deborah Smith recorded 10 kills, with a .346 attack percentage.
Colleen Smith made 10 kills in the match.
Ellie Brown tallied seven kills and
Kaylee Byerly added five kills.
Alecia Funk distributed 26 assists in the match and
Marlee Anderson had 20. Brown and
Deborah Smith each had seven total kills in the match.
Allie High had 19 digs to lead the Thunder, and
Colleen Smith added 10 kills.
The Thunder volleyball team returns to action Friday night when Albion College visits Wheaton for a match at 7:00 p.m. in King Arena.
