Wheaton, Ill. - The 24th-ranked Thunder women's basketball team earned its eighth-consecutive victory on Saturday night with a 75-60 victory over the Elmhurst Bluejays. Wheaton runs its record to 13-3 overall and remains undefeated at 7-0 in CCIW play. The Bluejays fall to 7-9 overall and 3-4 in the CCIW. Wheaton will be back in action on Wednesday, when the Thunder complete their first trip through the CCIW schedule with a trip to Augustana.
Wheaton shot over 40% in three of the four quarters, but finished the game shooting 39.7% (23-58) from the field and 26.1% (6-23) from the three-point line. After struggling at the free throw line in Wednesday's win, Wheaton shot an impressive 76.7% (23-30). Elmhurst was held to 31.3% (21-67) from the floor and just 10.5% (2-19) from the three-point line while also turning in an impressive free throw line performance at 84.2% (16-19). The Bluejays were able to win the battle on the boards 44-40 and grab 15 offensive rebounds.
Wheaton jumped out to a quick start with Hannah Frazer converting an old-fashioned three-point play on the first possession of the game as Wheaton built an 8-4 lead over the Bluejays. Elmhurst countered then found their footing in the game as the Bluejays countered with a 15-2 run over the next three minutes to take a 19-10 lead.

Jennifer Berg connected on a three-pointer that jumpstarted an 11-0 Thunder run to close the first quarter.
Kristi Demski's second three-pointer of the run gave Wheaton the lead at 21-19 where it would stand at the end of the first quarter.

Elmhurst would stop the run early in the second quarter with a pair of free throws but Wheaton would build the lead out to 26-21 as the Thunder held the Bluejays without a field goal for a span of over 11 minutes until a lay-up with 3:07 left in the half cut the lead to three. A string of
Jordan Myroth free throws helped the Thunder build their lead to ten points before settling for a 35-27 halftime edge.
Wheaton's strong defense helped the Thunder continue to build their lead, using a 13-4 run over the first six minutes of the quarter to build their largest lead of the night on a
Devin Kyler three-pointer to make it 48-31. Elmhurst answered in the final four minutes of the quarter, outscoring Wheaton 14-4 to pull within 52-45 on Kween Jean's jumper with nine seconds to play in the quarter. A jumper by Myroth and another three-pointer from Demski pushed the lead back to 12 as Wheaton held the Bluejays at arms length throughout the fourth quarter, never leading by less than eight en route to the 75-60 victory.
Hannah Williams led Wheaton in scoring for the second straight game, pouring in 18 points.
Jordan Myroth led all players with 13 rebounds to go with 13 points and
Kristi Demski also scored 13 points.
Devin Kyler finished with 10 points and six rebounds and
Jennifer Berg added nine points with six rebounds. Courtney O'Donnell led the Bluejays with 16 points after scoring 10 in the first quarter.
