Chicago, Ill. - The Thunder men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season on Wednesday night, falling 4-0 at the University of Chicago. The second-ranked Maroons improved to 4-0-1 on the season while the Thunder fall to 2-1-1. Wheaton will be back in action on Saturday when the Thunder travel to Decorah, Iowa to face Luther College.
After answering the call on several shot attempts in the opening minutes,
Hasten Biddlecome surrendered the first of four goals in the 17th minute on Dayo Adeosun's fifth goal of the season. Chicago would add a second goal just under six minutes later when Max Lopez scored his fourth goal of the season for a 2-0 Chicago lead. The Maroons continued their threatening throughout the half, outshooting Wheaton 10-4 in the opening half.
The Maroons added a goal in the opening minutes of the second half and followed with their fourth and final goal in the 70th minute to account for their scoring. Wheaton was able to balance the scoring attempts in the second half, firing seven shots to nine for the Maroons.
Biddlecome made four saves for the Thunder while Chicago's Aaron Katsimpalis alos made four saves in a shutout effort.
