Wheaton, Ill. – The Wheaton football team has earned recognition in a pair of national college football preseason publications. The Thunder football program is ranked 16th in the preseason magazine distributed by Lindys Sports and 20th in the Sporting News College Football preseason magazine. Wheaton earns the rankings following a 2017 season in which the program posted an 8-2 record.

The Thunder return five former All-CCIW selections for the 2018 season in Andrew Jones, Phillip Nichols, Patrick O'Connell, Tyler Sigler and Eric Stevenson.  Additionally, Jones, O'Connell, Sigler and Stevenson have each earned All-North Region recognition from D3football.com in their career.

The Thunder open the 2018 season at home against Monmouth College on September 1 in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at McCully Stadium.
