Waukesha, Wis. - The Wheaton men's tennis team concluded the regular season portion of its schedule on Saturday with a 7-2 victory at Carroll University. Wheaton improves to 8-10 overall and 6-1 in CCIW play. 

Wheaton's No. 3 doubles team of Alexander Winters and Andrew Bristol picked up the first victory of the day for the Thunder with an 8-2 win against Carroll's Quentin Lamers/Mitchel Gjerseth. Wheaton's second win in doubles play was an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles for Anderson Park and Karl Wenzel over Joseph Harrison and Chayce Roecker.

Bristol earned Wheaton's first victory in singles play with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles against Mitchel Gjerseth. Freshman Anderson Park was a 6-0, 6- 3 victor against Carroll's Peter Jaeger at No. 1 singles. Jeremiah Yi topped Joseph Harrison 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Wheaton's Dane Paulsen was a 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 winner against Chayce Roecker at No. 2 singles. Winters topped Carroll's Quentin Lamers 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5 singles.

Wheaton will participate in the 2018 CCIW Men's Tennis Championships next weekend in Naperville, Illinois. The Thunder are the No. 2 seed in the eight-team event and will face Illinois Wesleyan in the opening round. The event, hosted by North Central College at Nike Sports Complex, begins on Thursday, May 3.
