Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team concluded its four-match trip to Florida on Thursday with a matchup against Coe College. The Kohawks, ranked 36th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III men's tennis poll, defeated the Thunder 8-1.

Freshman Alexander Winters earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 victory at No. 5 singles against Coe's Will Rizer.

Thunder freshman Anderson Park lost to Coe's Brady Anderson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Anderson entered the math ranked 19th in Division III in singles competition. Coe's Jake Kudrick defeated Jeremiah Yi, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Coe's Nate Ackert, ranked 50th in D3, topped Karl Wenzel 7-5, 7-6 at No. 3 singles. Evgeny Pakhomenko of Coe earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-7 win at No. 4 singles against Wheaton's Andrew Bristol. Tyler Nelson was a 6-1, 6-4 victor at No. 6 singles against Christopher Jones.

The Coe tandem of Luke Ford and Josh Pudlo defeated Wheaton's No. 1 doubles team of Dane Paulsen and Yi 8-2. Jake Kudrick and Nate Greiner of Coe won an 8-2 matchup at No. 2 doubles against Park and Wenzel. The Coe tandem of Rizer and Nelson earned an 8-2 victory at No. 3 doubles against the Wheaton pair of Bristol and Winters.

Wheaton returns to action March 17 when the Thunder faces Luther College in a neutral site matchup in Rockford, Illinois.
