Rockford, Ill. - The Thunder men's tennis team dropped a close matchup against Luther College on Saturday night as the Norse topped Wheaton 5-4. Wheaton led 2-1 after doubles competition, however, Luther won matches at No. 3-singles, No. 4-singles, No. 5-singles and No. 6-singles to rally for the victory.

Wheaton's Anderson Park and Karl Wenzel teamed up to defeat Luther's Brian Murman and Trent Schneider 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. The Thunder No. 3 doubles team of Andrew Bristol and Josh Cheng defeated Luther's Grant Morton and Jake Smith 8-4.

Park was a 6-1, 6-1 victor at No. 1 singles against Luther's Grant Morton. Dane Paulsen earned Wheaton's final victory of the evening as he rallied for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles against Luther's Anders Jensen.

Wheaton hosts Edgewood College on March 23 at Centre Court Athletic Club in Hanover Park, Illinois at 3:30 p.m.
