Janesville, Wis. - The Thunder men's tennis team resumed its participation in UW-Whitewater's "Warhawk Invitational" on Saturday morning with a match against Grinnell College (4-1). The Pioneers topped the Thunder 6-3. Ohio Wesleyan (1-2) edged the Thunder 5-4 in Wheaton's final match of the tournament.

The Thunder picked up all three of its victories today against Grinnell in singles competition. Anderson Park defeated Grinnell's Sriram Sugumaran 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles. Dane Paulsen was a 6-3, 6-4 victor at No. 2 singles against Zach Lane and Wheaton's Jeremiah Yi won a 0-6, 7-5, 10-6 decision against Sam Stickels at No. 3 singles.

In the match against Ohio Wesleyan, Park defeated Shouta Fukamachi 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles as Park remains undefeated in the spring season. Paulsen led Diego Venegas Vargas 4-0 in the opening set when Vargas retired from the match as Paulsen earned the win at No. 2 singles. Paulsen and Yi teamed up for a 9-8 (9-7) win at No. 1 doubles against Jack Hibbard and Diego Venegas Vargas. Park and Karl Wenzel earned an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles against Alex Lutz and Jacob Volbers.

Wheaton travels to Wabash on February 24 for a matchup with the Little Giants.
