Hanover Park, Ill. - The Wheaton men's tennis team finished the regular season on Saturday with a pair of conference victories. The Thunder defeated Carroll University 8-1 on Saturday morning and Wheaton was a 5-0 victor in the evening against Illinois Wesleyan. Wheaton (14-7, 7-0 CCIW) will participate in the 2017 CCIW Men's Tennis Championship May 4-7 in Rock Island, Illinois.

Justin Ancona, Matt Steiner, Jeremiah Yi, Josh Cheng and Andrew Torok all earned singles victories for the Thunder in the morning victory against Carroll. Wheaton swept the doubles matches as the teams of Ancona/Steiner; Yi and Dane Paulsen; and Cheng and Andrew Bristol each earned wins.

In the match against IWU, the Thunder won all three doubles matches. Ancona/Steiner earned the win at No. 1 doubles, Karl Wenzel and Yi gained the victory at No. 2 doubles and the team of Bristol and Cheng picked up the win at No. 3 doubles.

Cheng won a 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 5 singles and Christopher Jones was a 6-0, 6-0 victor at No. 6 singles. The matches at No. 1 through No. 4 singles went unfinished once Wheaton secured the 5-0 victory.
