Bloomington, Ill. – The Thunder softball team completed its 2017 season on Friday night with a conference doubleheader at Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans won the opener 8-0 and IWU closed out the twinbill with a 2-1 victory in the second game.
Illinois Wesleyan won tonight's first game 8-0. The Titans scored eight runs, on eight hits with no errors and the Thunder scored zero runs, on three hits, with nine errors.
Thunder starting pitcher took the loss in 5-2/3 innings. Keheres allowed eight runs, including two earned runs, on eight hits, with two walks and one strikeout.
Megan Neuhaus and
Sage Miller each hit doubles for the Thunder and
Sophie Kent added a single to account for Wheaton's three hits in the game.

The Titans won the second game 2-1. The hosts scored two runs, on 10 hits, with one error and Wheaton registered one run, on four hits, with one error.
Thunder sophomore
Jaclyn McLean (PICTURED LEFT) took the loss in seven innings. McLean allowed two runs, including one earned run, on 10 hits, with two strikeouts. Miller hit two singles,
Lauren Meurer and Neuhaus each hit a single to account for Wheaton's four hits in the game.
Illinois Wesleyan gained a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third inning. Wheaton tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Neuhaus led off the bottom of the sixth inning with a single and she scored three batters later on a passed ball. IWU regained a lead in the top of the seventh inning when the Titans scored the go-ahead run in the top of the seventh inning to account for the hosts 2-1 victory.
